Muntlig eksamen i Religion og etikk overstått!

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009 by Kiyu

English-speaking readers: all my exams are over, and I have officially finished High School/Upper Secondary School. Well, not officially, since the ceremony hasn’t been held yet.. But in a practical sense, I have :)

One year has past

Monday, May 11th, 2009 by Kiyu

At the first Religions and ethics class, our teacher asked us to write ourselves a letter. She have taken care of the letters, and none have opened them. Today, a year later, we receive the letters back so that we may see how much we have matured. I find my own thoughts (and grammar mistakes) at that time extremely amusing. And interesting I might add.

Listening: Younha – Best Friends
Reading: The Dark by Marianne Curley (Br. fantasy) – book II! Oh how captivating!

The Problem of Evil

Thursday, February 12th, 2009 by Kiyu

God is almighty, god is kind. God is brilliant light and goodness, as well as fair and righteous. He condemns no-one and loves everyone. He brings peace to those who have faith, and brings them to Heaven when their time has come. If God really is all-loving and such a wonderful being, then why does evil exist? Why does cruelty flourish in the originally good world which God created? Those with faith are murdered, tortured for their loyalty to God. Destructible weapons are created to wipe millions of people off the surface of earth (and they have been used too), and battles have been fought for the silliest of reasons. …read on

The “The Problem of Evil” paper I wrote for my Religions and Ethics class a couple of weeks ago. Yes, Rolf, I’ll bring you a paper version of it as soon as possible!

Newly shaped fringe

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 by Kiyu

Religions class was surprisingly interesting. It’s more philosophy to it than I ever imagined. Actually, I imagined it as boring a class as society class. But I’ve wronged this harshly critisized subject.
You know how I always have these funny thoughts racing through my mind? Philosophical, wonderous thoughts. Vivid and bleak, urgent and slow.
Then this class must be perfect for you, you might think. Well, I do to.
But something’s telling me all the philosophical chat won’t stay for long. Certainly it will come to an end soon, and that’s where the boring bit starts. Religion always was tedious to me. But I pray it won’t be this time, not with this wonderful teacher we’ve got :D

On another note, I finally got my Literature & Cultural English class. Yes, it does mean novels, short stories, plays, art, architecture, movies and etcetra. Bingo! Another perfect class!
Yes, it would indeed be if it weren’t for the teacher we’ve been assigned. Argh. She poisons my favorite subject.
You know, it seems like she doesn’t hear what we say a lot of times. She keeps stating something we already answered her, like she’s frustrated we haven’t come to the right conclusion yet and therefore decides to tell us. It’s quite irritating.
And all the “Yes,, isn’t it? Mhm. Yes, indeed. Yes. Yes. Mhm.” are bound to get on my nerves someday. Certainly.

Oh and I went to the hairdresser today. Which means for the first time in a millennia. It’s quite nice to know that the back of your head will be taken care of. But she cut off way too much at the back though! It feels empty and airy. Cold even. Oh well, it’ll grow back in no time at all!
I got myself a straight fringe. It’s still quite alien to me, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it soon enough :D
