You know how I love playing around with hair…

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010 by Kiyu

…this hairstyle, I can guarantee you that none of you has EVER seen me sport before. N-E-V-E-R. Haha it’s quite a shocker to myself to wear my hair like this actually. But I think I like it! I think I need to wear it like this out in public sometime? See, this is why I’ll never ever chop off my long bits, because I can alternate between short and long hairstyles! Fabulous, innit?! :D

You wouldn’t know, but I HATE absolutely HATE showing my forehead (for numerous of reasons), so I’ve always had a fringe. Actually, I love fringes as well. Just for you I’m showing off my stupid forehead (which, btw, I’ve only shown to Hui, who also happens to be the one who encouraged me to show more of my face). Please don’t make me regret it?

Oh, and if anyone would like to share some of their vast skin care knowledge with me on how to deal with the problem area called forehead, please do! If I’m gonna go out in public like this I better have smooth, unblemished skin before I pop out!

EDIT// I’d also like to point out that I am actually 19 years old of age turning 20 this beautiful August and not a “kid”. It may seem ridiculously funny to you to refer to me as “the kid”, but I’m sure you wouldn’t find it humorous if I thought your d*** was tiny weeny, or what do you say boys? ‘Kay, I’m just getting tired of how my young physical appearance always gets in the way of things. Never used to care much, but then it never used to create any problems either! Evil thing, this baby face!

Iridescent brown

Friday, April 9th, 2010 by Kiyu

Crappy full body.

Close-up
My fringe is so funky, it’s curled in a way that makes it look like it’s braided! Me like! Now the colour just needs some getting-used-to time :) You should see it in real life when it’s sparkling in the sunlight and the two different shades really get to play out nicely! Photos can never do a brilliant colour justice, mine is actually more ashy?

Hair products galore!

Thursday, April 8th, 2010 by Kiyu

Fine, I admit it. I’m a product junkie.

See all those bottles and tubes? They’re all for my hair. You could say that I’m obsessed with hair the way some girls are obsessed with make-up! I love playing around with hair, whether it be cutting, colouring or styling—love it all!

Some of my favourites:

I’m so excited about tomorrow, I’m leaving my hair in the hands of a professional (for the first time!) to have my roots and colour done. All I have to do is lean back, enjoy the pampering and leave behind a ridiculous amount of money! :D

Golden brown

Thursday, March 4th, 2010 by Kiyu

People keep getting surprised by my new hair colour, so yeah, I’m gonna tell you now and for all; I’m no longer red-haired. I dyed it brown a few weeks ago. My flat mates say it’s golden, but I don’t know … Oh well!

Twenty-ten

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010 by Kiyu

It’s a new year!
Some people see the turn of a year as a fresh start with blank pages to be filled out, others are a bit more occupied with working out in the gym after a season of blissfull gluttony. Me? A new year means that I won’t be able to write the number of the previous year anymore. Goodbye twenty-oh-nine, hello twenty-ten. It feels a little bit sad, knowing that twenty-oh-nine now belongs in the past.

Oh well, I guess I did greet 2010 with a new start in mind. Apparently, I’m playing daredevil with the badass pharmacy practice lecturers this term:

Long time no see, little red riding hood! How many years has it been now? Three? Actually, the shade is a lot darker than this, the light makes it go bright. I’ve been a better shade of red, but this will have to do for now!

I don’t have any New Year’s Resolutions, which I reckon is due to the fact that I’m very satisfied with my life and wish for it to stay as it is! I hope your 2009 has been just as great! :D

Apparently Halloween is a big thing here

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009 by Kiyu

..for all the tickets for LCR Halloween night were sold out within hours (with a ridiculously long queue again).

I’m thinking of wearing something ballerina-ish, altered to suit my taste of course. The pure and innocent ones often turn out to be the most scary.

Hair: updo

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009 by Kiyu

After being peed on by Martine’s bunny, I was requested by Lutten to fix her hair for a party she was going to attend later. I let her browse through my image collection of hair styles to see if she liked something. A delighted cry escaped her lips soon enough, and pointing to a picture on the screen, she told me she would love to have that hairdo. She didn’t believe I could do it though, so I pushed her into the chair and showed her the magic my fingers can perform (*cough*)! I even made the rough-thread-ribbon-thing in her hair, I love anything that looks organic :D Click the picture to view a bigger version!

Redhead vs. Blondie

Friday, March 6th, 2009 by Kiyu

green card online poll

I can’t make up my mind, which hair color to choose?! As you may be aware of, I am going to dye my hair again during my Easter break.

Blonde will be cheaper and easier to maintain because all I have to do is re-bleach the roots (natural blonde hair have different hues, any difference in shades will therefore not be that noticeable) and use my special silver/purple shampoo to prevent the color from fading to yelllow/orange. I also already have all the ‘equipments’ I need. Plus I’m very much in love with the ash blonde hue. But I’ve been blonde for so long now, and it’ll be hell to bleach it light enough now that my hair is DYED black.

Red is basically my signature color because it was my very first ‘unnatural’ color. Red also doesn’t require as much bleaching because it’s a rather dark and intense color. Unfortunately enough I don’t have any red dye or shampoos to maintain reddish hair in my supply right now(only blonde), plus it’ll be both hard and expensive to maintain the color because I will have to re-bleach the roots AND re-dye it. It’ll be impossible to get the exact same hue for the roots as the rest of my head (that’s why I always keep the roots black). BUT. It has been quite some time now since the last time I was red, and I do adore the color! I MISS RED.

SO HELP ME CHOOSE, WILL YOU! Vote, vote, vote!

Recommend me some romantic comedies?

Friday, February 13th, 2009 by Kiyu

So I’m sitting here with my cup of express hot chocolate (works fine to me) and not really doing anything special other than just thinking. It’s quite peaceful right now. The moon is gone and so are the stars. Last night when ML drove me home, the moon was HUGE. H-U-G-E. It emmittet such a mysterious aura. Like it was a sign of some prophecy or destiny. Perhaps you know me, perhaps you know that I love everything spiritual, mysterious and such that cannot be explained by cold facts.

Oh and look at this amazing hair! Simple yet gorgeous! (http://www.billtyler.com)

I love it! The shade of red! The hair! It looks so good with her pale skin! Oh how I miss my red hair! I do wonder if I should go red in Easter!

I got two new hair-fans at the café yesterday. I just LOVE it when people walk right up to me and start chatting. I was sitting by the bar and trying out their famous carrot cake (honestly, got too much cake yesterday) when I felt someone playing with my hair. The next thing I know, someone is shouting; “Oh, I just LOVE your hair!” Reminds me of another episode back in last summer when I was in London; I was eating some fried chicken at KFC (goodness, love the chicken!) and there was this little girl (age 12-14 perhaps?) who came to our table and asked me where I had cut my hair. Isn’t that just incredible nice of them! Oh I do adore them all! I just wish more people would have the courage to come talk to me. I usually approach people myself if I find them interesting, but sometimes I can be quite intimidating because of my intensity so I try.. er.. to keep myself in check. So that’s why; if you would like to know me, please do come say hi! I bite very lightly :D

I actually need to go clean my room now. The girls are coming over tomorrow evening for the yearly Crappy Valentines evening where we just watch some sappy romantic comedy, eat, chat and jest about how ‘lonely’ we all are xD It’s gonna be fun. And ML is with us for the first time (members with a boyfriend are not allowed to come, and she had one last time), and so is Lutten!

Any good romantic comedies out there? Old and new, all the same!

Nevnte jeg at vi fikk 5/6 på særemnet? Vi fikk litt trekk for å være litt for distanserte fra bøkene, but it’s alright! :D

Beloved child

Monday, December 29th, 2008 by Kiyu

“Hey, dad, can I use this one? I think it’s of a better quality than mine so..” Waving my arms while rapidly explaining why I wanted to switch his for mine, he eyed the items in my hands with a bewildred look. It didn’t take too long until he realized what the items were, and when he did, his face broke into a huge grin.
“Oh, yes! Of course! You go use whichever you want, honey!”
Walking into the bathroom, I heard my father give my mother the news in the kitchen. There were several people in there preparing the food for the Christmas party we were hosting, and my mother sounded ecstatic by whatever my father was telling her.

Two hours later, I walked into the kitchen to fetch myself some water and see if they needed any help. They were all clustered up in there. As if my arrival had set off some mental alarm in my father’s mind, his head snapped up in my direction. His eyes grew wide in wonder before they turned soft. He stretched his arms out to me, and cupped my face in his hands while I was covering my eyes out of embarrassment. His voice grew husky and mellow. I knew this was coming.
“Look.. how beautiful you are, Kieu Ly. I always said this looks wonderful on you. You’re simply stunning.”
Somewhere behind him, I could hear my mothers proud approval. She was saying something about me being a good girl.

I peeked out from my fingers while they were still praising me, and gazed at my black hair.

My parents never loved me more.
