“Since you’re so into Disney and know all about it, won’t you be the hostess for the Disney concerts?” my singing teacher asked me weeks ago when I was about to leave the room.
“Sure,” I agreed with a grin widening across my face, while thinking silently to myself that I just got myself committed to yet another concert. I was already semi-committed to it, because I was going to sing on it aswell. But I could always fake a sickness or something, one artist less wouldn’t hurt them. But now that I had accepted being the hostess, I couldn’t just pretend like I just broke my leg. No, I had to go.
So I went down town pretty early yesterday to talk about the concert because Camilla, my teacher, wanted me there early. The whole day was a challenge to me, because I once again hadn’t gotten any sleep for the night. By the time that I knocked on the concert door, I had already been awake for 28 hours straight.
But you know, I am a weird creature. As long as I’m not forced to sit still for a longer period of time, I can still bounce around as if I just had my biological batteries recharged.
You know how hosts/hostesses on small, local concerts usually just say the title of the song and the artist’s name when they’re presenting a new performer? That is so plain and boring. I swore to myself that I wouldn’t be one of those. Zettai!
And so I would always spend the few minutes during all the different performers trying to come up wth some witty comments, because as the hostess I would be talking a lot. I would usually play on the lyrics of the song or the movie it origined from. I didn’t have time to prepare anything, so I just relied on my (non)witty gut and hoped for the best. Luckily for me, people seemed to like it. The crowd was awesome, and I couldn’t help but really enjoy myself during the whole concert. People seemed to be having a great time, and I saw at least 2-3 reflex cameras snapping pictures every ten seconds. I don’t have any pictures myself, sorry. If I knew this was going to be such a huge success, I would have brought my camera along and get someone to snap pictures as I was very busy myself.
Oh well, I hope you had a great time, Lutten! See, it wasn’t THAT bad, eh? :D
I decided to go back to blonde. My black roots were starting to dominate my head, it was about time I did something. I was originally going to dye it back to black, just to see how it would look after two years non stop with bleaching and dying. I know mom would’ve been happy if I went back to black. She says she’s going to scalp me someday if I keep dying/bleaching my hair in such ‘crazy’ colors. xD
I kind of feel like Mulan in a way; rebellious, daring, strong-minded (or just plain stubborn if you prefer). We’re both going against the flow, both trying to break free from the Asian norms, both wanting to be good girls so that our parents will not be put in shame. But at the same time we want to be able to do what we desire. It’s a complicated harmony to uphold.
Don’t get fooled by the length of my hair. It’s short short short in the back. (But yes, it’s very long in the front) If you look close enough, you might be able to see my blue eyes~
Oh well, it’s time for the doodle of the day:
