Alice in Wonderland

Monday, January 11th, 2010 by Kiyu

I AM SO GOING TO WATCH IT! I’ve been looking forward to this film ever since the rumours started about Burton making it! And oh, I am, by the way, back in England now. Second term just started today, and probably going out tonight if I don’t have too much work to finish up (yes, really, I got work over the holidays)!

And what’s with everyone I know having a tie to Hong Kong? Anna just left for an exchange to Hong Kong, a lot of people I know here in UK have a HK background (they actually have an apartment there, the rich bastards!), and I myself was actually born there. Basically, HK is being slapped in my face everyday (in a good way, though) and now I kind of really want to go there!

Morning dew and watercolors

Thursday, July 24th, 2008 by Kiyu

While the bright morning sun peers down at the peaceful streets and heats my back until I almost start sweating, my pencil is already busy dancing across the thick, medium texturixed watercolor paper sheat that I treasure so much.
The place is called “Rådhusamfiet” and is a huge staircase of stones with colored lights and Porsgrunn’s flower carved onto them. The lake which our two neighbouring towns, Skien and Porsgrunn, keep arguing over is in my view, and I couldn’t have enjoyed my morning better.
I had gotten up at 8:00 AM to take the bus to town and enjoy the fresh morning air and the quite, yet bustling life in the town’s streets.
My faithful pencil and erasers were with me, and my newly bought watercolor tools tagged along aswell.
It was perfect.

Yeah, I forgot Alice is pale, and her head is way too big. But you know, I can’t push any CTRL+Z when I work with traditional mediums :D

It’s been 6 years since I last played with watercolors (akvarell).
You know, I get bitten by bugs easily, and this time the watercolor bug came and claimed me as its victim. I saw a watercolor drawing (actually, I saw more than one) by a manga artist, and it was so fascinating that I knew I just had to try it out myself. And now I’m bitten twice over.
I just can’t help wondering why on earth I’ve never started using watercolors before! It’s a lot faster, much more advanced looking (digital works has become so common it’s not special anymore), the outcome is a lot prettier and it’s hella more fun.
The only backfire about it is that it’s quite expensive. One 12ml tube with watercolorpaint costs me 50-90kr, and the watercolor paper I have to paint on (normal paper won’t do) is not any cheaper. One block with 12 sheats of 300g paper is priced 100kr, and the watercolor brushes ranges from 26-100+ kr depending on the size. And the exclusive brushes are even more expensive. They can cost you as much as a couple of thousand kroner.
But you see, it’s worth it. I love watercolors way too much.

Twilight backstage at ET

Friday, April 11th, 2008 by Kiyu

THIS IS THE MOST SPECTACULAR THING I’VE EVER SEEEN! *hyperventilates*

Jeg simpelthen hoppet og spratt rundt på soveromsgulvet mitt, så spent og glad var jeg. Err. Jeg mener selvfølgelig at jeg ER. Vampire vs. vampire knock-down! Den scenen overgår alle mine forventninger, it looks great even at backstage!

Ehh. Litt vulgær. Too much skin-exposing.
I WANT TO COSPLAY ALICE TO THE MOVIE PREMIER!

And another backstage video, this one with a little more content.

Jeg må også få takke Totoro fra Japani-forumet for linkene til disse videoene.

Leser: Romeo and Juliet av William Shakespeare (Br. skuespill)
Ser på: Backstage videoene til Twilight :DDD

The moment

Monday, March 24th, 2008 by Kiyu

“The moment,” Cales said.
He was referring to how I look “different” in pictures when compared to real life me. It’s not the physical that’s changed. Like he said; I “was still Kieu” (to those who don’t know; Kieu is my birth name). I still look like me, myself, and no-one else. But there is something different, a simple gesture, a twitch at the corner of my mouth. A fraction of time freezed for eternity. Time is flowing continuosly, never stops, never slows down. I am “Kieu” when time flows, elements and actions caused by myself makes me “Kieu”. But when one moment is freezed, one of the elements is enhanced and I seem “different” because of that.
Cales really has an intresting mind.

People never seem to get tired of getting surprised by my contrasting looks and personality. A few days ago I was once again confronted with how tiny and innocent I look, but oh what evil personality this little shell hosts. “Evil” as in you-talk-before-you-think-and-therefore-say-a-lot-of-insensitive-things. That’s actually true, I do say a lot of weird stuff. I never stop to think twice before I talk. Okay, maybe when I get in the philosophical mood. But never whenever I’m excited. Beware, I get excited all day long. I feel really sorry for sensitive people, I must literary kill them with my insensitiveness!

I have no clue of what’s normal for guys to give us girls on White Day(March 14th), but people sure do know me well! I gave some obligatory chocolate to a few of my buddies on Valentines Day, and they respond with the most wonderful gifts! I’ve always been very fond of ribbons and liquorice candy. Actually, I told people to give me ribbons for christmas, and I’m actually bribable with liquorice candy.

Ops, shouldn’t have said that.

Anyways, I got a bunch of ribbons, lots of liquorice candy and – this one is the most awesome of them all – Vampire Knight volume 3. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA OF HOW OBSESSED I AM WITH THIS MANGA SERIES? No, you really don’t know, eh? Well, it’s my second obsession after Twilight. And that’s huge to say the least.

Edward CullenTalking about Twilight, I’ve been in a fanart-mode lately. I’ve thought constantly about drawing the inhumanly gorgeous Cullens, but knowing myself as well as I do, I wouldn’t even pick up the pencil. I rarely ever draw. Sad, isn’t it? I should draw more though, I know I should. It’s just that I lack the motivation B-A-D-L-Y. I must have a real huge urge to draw something to even bother sketch something! And when I do sketch/draw anything, I don’t bother post it on my blog or show anyone besides PGGANG if there is something they will recognize. Man, what do I own a blog for, really! But you know what. I’m surprised I actually drew some fanart. Oh how I love the Cullens
Oh Edward, my beloved Edward! You can bite me any time! Oh, right. He doesn’t bite humans.
Okay, so I cut Edward out of a Cullen siblings fanart I’m working on. I really hate adding those dark circles under their eyes, they make them look really ill! And yes, that is Alice by his left that you see there.

*OBSESS OBSESS*

*sigh*

I’m really obsessed with these books. Oh, I really like this interview MTV Movie News did with the actress for Victoria of the twilight movie.
