These delicate blue/violet flowers native to northern Europe are one of the first early signs of spring arriving in Scandinavia. Their season is almost over and I managed to snag the only 3 I could see in the woods. I never quite get used to how fast they disappear. When I went for a run on Sunday a week ago the forest floor was covered in them!
When the parents have had a spring clean in the garden and pruned all the fruit bearing trees, it means I get to harvest all the beautiful branches I want. I usually spend a small fortune on cherry blossom branches in late winter/early spring from the florist to decorate my home, but now I get them for free! Soon enough these will start flowering and I’m excited to see whether I’ve managed to snag cherry, apple, pear or plum!
Despite the odd snow shower we’ve been blessed with good weather and plenty of sunshine lately. That means I’m favouring more light and dewy bases with good SPF. The latest one I picked up is the Estee Lauder DayWear BB cream in Light and I like it! I really want to get my mittens on the new BareMinerals Complexion Rescue as well, heard only good stuff about it and it sounds right up my street!
