Redhead vs. Blondie

March 6th, 2009 by Kiyu

green card online poll

I can’t make up my mind, which hair color to choose?! As you may be aware of, I am going to dye my hair again during my Easter break.

Blonde will be cheaper and easier to maintain because all I have to do is re-bleach the roots (natural blonde hair have different hues, any difference in shades will therefore not be that noticeable) and use my special silver/purple shampoo to prevent the color from fading to yelllow/orange. I also already have all the ‘equipments’ I need. Plus I’m very much in love with the ash blonde hue. But I’ve been blonde for so long now, and it’ll be hell to bleach it light enough now that my hair is DYED black.

Red is basically my signature color because it was my very first ‘unnatural’ color. Red also doesn’t require as much bleaching because it’s a rather dark and intense color. Unfortunately enough I don’t have any red dye or shampoos to maintain reddish hair in my supply right now(only blonde), plus it’ll be both hard and expensive to maintain the color because I will have to re-bleach the roots AND re-dye it. It’ll be impossible to get the exact same hue for the roots as the rest of my head (that’s why I always keep the roots black). BUT. It has been quite some time now since the last time I was red, and I do adore the color! I MISS RED.

SO HELP ME CHOOSE, WILL YOU! Vote, vote, vote!

I would’ve chosen the one that leads to least damage to my hair. It seems like your hair has “died” already yes :p I don’t get how you have the guts to dye your hair so much! Isn’t it all horse-thick and yukie to feel at? No shine at all? I used to dye it brown and black a lot a couple of years ago. But then I saw my cousin’s never dyed-before natural black hair color, and I instantly fell in love <3

I think you look best with blonde (from those pictures to judge. Never seen you in real life with red, so meh). I like the intense red, not the brown/red in the far right picture. I think you should color it red since you haven’t had that color in a while. Same old thing gets boring faster :p

My hair has ‘died’ countless of times! But no, my hair isn’t that stiff and shine-less for long because I cut my hair frequently to maintain my short length. So basically my hair is never damaged severely (except for my twin-tails), since the really damaged parts are always cut off soon enough. I’m also very conscious of hair products I use, so I always use what’s best for my hair; heaps of conditioners, special shampoos, heat-proof creams and etc. It’s getting quite expensive too since I began buying saloon products.. D: But when I’m really short on time and don’t have time to conditioner my hair.. yep, it used to feel quite stiff and dry!

I have the guts because I don’t have long hair! Shorter hair is easier to maintain and experiment with, plus it’ll grow right back if you should happen to screw it all up :P

      Perhaps I will!

Just kidding, I could never go bald. You know I treasure my hair to no end!

And besides, what about the ‘mustache’? I won’t be able to make a mustache with my hair if I were to go bald!

What a tough choice.. it looks so nice either way, but I think blond will be better since Spring is on its way :)

You’re right. Blonde fits perfectly in with the upcoming spring and all the growing life! But..! Argh.

I need to get rid of black before summer comes! The heat will be too much..

This IS a touch choice! Based on the pictures though, I would say go for either the blonde colour on the top left picture or the red colour on the top right picture.

If only I had the guts, I would turn myself into a blondie right away! Or get a dark “anime-like” red colour… Black can be really cool too, but for some reason it doesn’t fit me at all (and I’m asian)! Either way, I’m definitely getting a lighter colour, since it’s spring and all, and just simply because colours are fun fun fun <3

We should all become more colorful! :D

I wouldn’t recommend going blonde, parents will suffer from a heartattack xD Black.. often looks boring on Asians, don’t you think? What kind of color will you be getting? Something brownish? If yes, then I would recommend ash brown!

The other day at work I saw two girls with green and pink hair, it was so awesome! =D

I’m “lucky”, my mom got mad when I dyed my hair black again :P
Black does tend to look boring on Asians, while non-Asian girls with a tan look so gorgous with black hair o_O It’s not fair…

Ash brown would be lovely, though I never seem to be able to get the right colour… blah
