LCR Christmas Fair

November 10th, 2009 by Kiyu

The LCR is the ‘common’ hall at UEA where we have all our concerts, parties and events — as I told you yesterday, there was a christmas fair there today at 10:00-15:00, and I spent my one hour lunch break at 13:00 wandering among the stalls with glittering eyes. I think my pharmacy mates find my easily triggered excitement rather amusing. I was so excited during the fair that Clara suggested I come with her and her boyfriend (who speaks Norwegian fairly well!) to what is rumoured to be the biggest Christmas fair in UK! Wuuhuu!

Anyways, I just wanted to show you my treasures from the LCR Christmas fair:

Chocolate Fudge. A Brit thing! I had to have some and see what the fuzz was all about. It’s alright, I never was a big fan of chocolate so I’m probably not the best to judge. Norfolk is the county I live in by the way (you know, like how Telemark is a county?), which means this is made locally. I dunno why, but I’ve become unusually concerned with local sources and environmental friendly everything. Have I finally gone green?

LIBAO HP shoes. Funky, unique and colourful shoes which are hand painted! I also got another green pair (my favourite) which I’m going to pick up tomorrow morning. They look like this! Now, you might wonder why the hell I didn’t just paint my own shoes, yeah? Thing is, we gotta support the artists, don’t we? Handcrafted arts and crafts are more expensive than mass fabricated ones, but if we stop buying objects made with pure love, the world of creativity and uniqueness would fall apart and I would have been a sad fellow indeed. If I started selling my crafts, I would want people to buy them as well…

The blue fellow you can spot on the bed there is for you, Phuc. His name is Boghog Blu and is a rather happy fellow I adopted from The Jade Tree. He enjoys laughing and cuddling! Remember he’s unique and hand made, there’s no other like him! My contribution for not being there on your birthday!

Tonight is Day Glo Rave party at the LCR, meaning glow sticks, glowing face paint and loads of FUNKY COLOURS! I LOVE COLOURS! Let’s rock those neon colours!
