"Pooh, will we be friends forever?" Piglet asked. "Even Longer," Pooh said.

I’m in love with a Fairytale

February 21st, 2009 by Kiyu

YES HE WON GODAMNIT! Fairytale will be performed in Moscow! Watch Fairytale in HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTdndLFY3W0&fmt=22

I know I sound completely insane. I never planned on actually watching the Norwegian finale, a colleague of mine actually mentioned it today and I never gave it a thought. I was just sitting in my room minding my own business when I heard a familiar tune from the living room, and I rushed up to announce that I had heard a lot about him. And since I get so easily excited about anything and everything, I ended up joining my parents and my baby sister watching the finale and texting my vote, cheering, singing along with the artists and etc. My daddy actually just revealed a second ago that he actually follows MGP and Eurovision every single year! GOODNESS.

Alright back to the song; I had doubts at first because of the ‘tone deaf’ verses, but after listening to the song a couple of times it really started growing on me. It’s brilliant because of the distinctive melody, the dynamic chorus, the exciting bridge and the brilliant traditional touch of violin! I have to add that I completely adore the violin! I am so fascinated by its beautiful tune! People who can play the violin amazes me to no end. Lucky me that I actually know one who does :D The performance with the modernized traditional dancing and the musé-like goddesses also enhances it all beautifully. Really gives it a touch of a real ‘fairytale’.

The title. Simply brilliant. Fairytale. Goodness, I’m sold! IF YOU KNOW ME, YOU WILL GET WHY I’M SOLD.

Alexander Rybak will stand out, and by standing out he will reach far.

I am so proud that Grenland got to give our votes as an independent part. GO US!

Did I mention how ‘real’ he performs the song? I feel like it’s so rebellish, egoistic and so alive. I usually think songs are pretty things, like a shiny toy you adore. But this Fairytale seems like a.. well, a fairytale to be honest. I might sound like I’m contradicting myself because fairytales supposedly aren’t real, but I actually live in my own fairytale.

Let’s give him all our hopes!

EDIT// I actually downloaded it legally now. meaning I paid for the song. That’s how much I wanna support the dude.

“OH HE LOOKS LIKE HE’S GOT SOME ASIAN GENES.
      Perhaps he’s a halfling?
      Man, he’s ugly.
Oh, but he actually can be quite cute!”

Heahea. Bare vent. THE SONG WILL GROW ON YOU TOO! It’s a nice representation of Norwegian culture :D

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. But once you’re there, you’ll understand why it’s so fantastic.

    En ekte grand prix låt, må jeg få si! Elsker også fiolin og er svært sjalu på de som kan spille ;_;

Men!
Yey! :D

The violin was a masterpiece, it totally won me over. That might be because I totally love the sound.

The masterpiece won A LOT of people over. He won with over 700 000 votes while his strongest opponent got about 120 000 votes. That’s how brilliant the violin is :D
