Desucon 08 cancelled for my part
October 6th, 2008
I am not going to Desucon this year due to certain sircumstances I don’t really feel like going deeper into. Please just trust me on this. It’s better if I don’t go. (No, Hoa Mi and Phuc, the reasons we discussed are not the only ones.)
Now I am very sorry for dissappointing anyone who was counting on me to come, I really am! I want to go so badly, but my senses say no. I usually listen to my senses.
I have been thinking a lot about this. Weighing all the reasons pro and against and have eventually come to this conclusion.
It’s just so.. sad. I was going to meet up with several people this year, and also see those whom I haven’t seen in a whole year. I was going to have this fanart stand aswell! And seeing how much demand there are for my paopu fruits, I really am saddened to have to tell them that I am not going after all. I see all the business potential, how much I could gain. Half the success is getting known by the people and get a trade mark so that the customers will recognize you and come again and again. But seeing how I’m not coming after all, I just screwed it up.
And I wanted to come just to see all the people again! And to see all the cosplayers this year! And to get to know them! Oh how unfair!
We decided to go next year instead. I know, I will lose a lot by not going this year. I know, I know. It will be different next year. A lot will be changed. I might not be as attached to some people anymore, I might not have as strong a bond as today. I could strengthen the bond(s) by going this October. I fear to loose what I could have had.
I could gain friendship, hearts, laughter, prosperity and a more solid foot inside the community. I’m wasting a lot by not going. Excluding myself. Fading away.
And I promised to bring Lutten aswell. I am so terribly sorry, Lutt! I know how much you want to go, and I want to show you the community and have you experience it all so much! It’s so huge and thrilling! That is, if you are like me and value even the smallest things. But I am positive that you are.
Yell at me as much as you want. (I would if it was reversed and you weren’t going)
I deserve it after all.

Fashion blogs are an inspiration
September 29th, 2008

First thing first: I got my hands on a copy of Brisingr, the third installment in the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini (Eragon being the first book) today! Surprisingly enough I bought the paperback version and not the hardcover one. Isn’t that strange? I used to refuse to - nearly voved not to - buy books in paperback no matter how much cheaper they were. Merely because hardcovers are a lot more fancy and because they just seem right. Is that not how books are supposed to be? With stiff and exclusive covers, not those thin and esily ripped off papery ones.
I did spend a lot of time discussing mentally with myself whether I should or not. I really wanted to get it in hardcover. I hope someone wants to buy Brisingr and who isn’t that picky about paperbacks or hardcovers, so that I can sell this paperback one and buy myself a new one in hardcover!
Back to the topic title: I have been lurking around on fashion blogs a lot lately. You would think that I wasn’t all that interested in clothes, since I’m not that obsessed about having to look my best everyday. To hell with make-up. I just need my hair done. Although I am ridiculously obsessed when it comes to hair. But you know, fashion is art. Fashion is all about being creative, therefore it is art.
So, inspired by all these fashion blogs and their bloggers, I have decided that from this day on I will sketch my outfit and hairdo of the day I blog to practice drawing frequently/more often. You see, I’m usually quite a lazy bum when it comes to art.
Don’t expect too much from my outfits though, schooldays aren’t my best days. Who’s got time or the effort to dress up for school anyway?
Hair: one length braided from ear to ear like a hair band. The other length is left unbraided, and the back is ruffled/spiked into wild messyness. A straight fringe with only a little hint of side-sweep on the right side.
Clothes:
- A plain, grey and quite long hoodie to keep the cold out
- A white spaghetti top underneath, barely visible at the bottom to make my torso seem longer
- Green polka dot scarf
- White shorts
- Black stockings
- Yellow converse shoes (not visible here because I can’t draw converse to save my life)
Why yes, I am clutching a take-away cup of hot chocolate for archery practice! (It’s cold, alright.)

Yellow Converse
September 26th, 2008
I love my new converses. They are a bright, vivid yellow. The color of sun and bliss. A cheerful color. Oh how I love vivid colors! : D
I ordered my bow last night. A Samick Stingray with a draw weight at 30# (#=pounds). They say it’ll be quite heavy for me as a girl to draw it. I think it will too, since I currently shoot with a 25# bow. I tried Jonas’ 30# longbow and it went quite smoothly, only that the actual weight was a lot lighter. I think it’s got something to say!
But hey, I’m not some meek and weak girl. If I can shoot with Jonas’ 30# longbow, then I certainly can shoot with a 30# recurve bow! What was the draw weight of your bow again Martin, 27#? Did I mention it’s a traditional, wooden bow? And it’s almost just as tall as I am. Yeah, I’m short!
We’re going to have individual training sessions in Gym class soon, which means that I’l try to get the coach to approve of my archery. That’ll give me 1,5 hours extra practice a week, and I will for once in my 13 years of school actually enjoy gym class! Hurr hurr have to get my hands on a target-thingie soon if I am to practice achery at schol. One that’s not too heavy for me to bring to the school grounds, but which my arrows won’t penetrate through either.
Any of you who live nearby are welcome to come try my bow when I receive it and all the equipments!

Finally colored, eh!
September 24th, 2008
And the wand-like lily which lifted up,
As a Maenad, its moonlight-coloured cup,
Till the fiery star, which is its eye,
Gazed through clear dew on the tender sky.
- Percy Bysshe Shelley

Remember Lilypond? I love her to death. She’s a little fairy/flower pixie among the many beautiful flowers in the woods. The color of her hair and dress might change. (You probably noticed my inking improvement aswell! And the cg style. Hm.)
Oh I wish I knew someone who loved drawing backgrounds and would want to collaborate with me! I hate drawing backgrounds :(
And so deeply that you never see any from me. This sucks.
Guuh. I’m supposed to study chemistry right now. I have a test with dear Trine tomorrow, and I’ve heard her tests are all awful!

Attractive? Aye!
September 22nd, 2008
Speaking of Britain, do you know what’s really attractive? The British accent.
I’m not quite sure what the deal is, but there’s something really alluring about the accent. Like a hypnotizing velvet voice, almost like a mesmer, only that it isn’t a voice but something wider than that.
Why yes, I do intend to fetch myself a British guy someday! I bet I don’t even need the velvet voice of Edward’s, I just need the accent to be swooned. Haha I must be very superficial to think so. Mhhm. But British is just so… Attractive. Utterly, completely, non-argumentable attractive. I don’t even think the guy needs to be of British ancestory, as long as he talks British fluently and is able to dazzle me.
Guys like Alex Pettyfer (Alex Rider, Stormbreaker) and William Moseley (Peter Pevensie, Narnia) are two examples of very fine candidates. I don’t care how much hotter other guys are, the British accent of these two beats the other non-British-talking-guys into pulps. That’s just how attractive it is to me.
All whom agree to my statement about British being attractive, raise your hands and chirp “Aye!” in unison!

Liverpool, York and Stratford-upon-Avon
September 20th, 2008
Screw telling the tale about my second trip to England! It’s so much I really can’ fit it all into a single blog post. I wish I could talk to you all live, then you would really get the correct impact of my story. Trust me on this one, I tell my tales very engaging! (Some people say I could even make a sheat of plain paper sound interesting)
But at least I’ll give you a short and un-engaged summary of my trip:
I went to York, a former Viking suburb with a famous butchery lane whose bloody history was not to be forgotten, then back to our base in Liverpool where we went to Albert Dock to see a Beatles exhibition -which I don’t really care for- and Tate Liverpool (one out of four Tate galleries dedicated to modern art), and at last to my favorite place of them all: Stratford-upon-Avon where Shakespeare once was born, dwelled and died. Oh yes indeed, my hero’s hometown.
If you would like to hear more about the trip, I’ve continued the story in the gallery!
I’m quite sure the last week has been trying to finish me off. Not to mention the upcoming one which is just as ready to wear me out. You wondering why I haven’t been blogging? Easy - I haven’t had any time to even take a deep breath!
Countless of deadlines hung over my head like ticking bombs, waiting for me to slip up somewhere along the road. Which actually resulted in me not being able to give my fullest in all the different things that both occupied my brain and my hands. One thing I HAVE been trying better than my best at is archery practice, which obviously must have paid off : D
Geir kept complimenting me, telling my technique was good! And Helge agreed aswell. HELL YEAH I’M FINALLY DOING SOMETHING RIGHT! No, Per wasn’t there today and I do adore Geir and Helge more anyways. They’re more.. let’s say. Hm. Normal.
Haha. And I signed up for a cheerleading squad. Gosh, I think I’m trying to kill myself!
Listening: Lars Kilevold - When You’re Gone (Norwegian AND catchy!)
Reading: Artemid Fowl and the Time Paradox by Eoin Colfer (Irish fantasy) - I am so infuriated that I don’t have anyone among my friends who read the Artemis Fowl books! Alright, so I’m just frustrated that I never have anyone to discuss my books with. Hmph.

Miss. Archery
September 4th, 2008
Yeah, you know what this means. My name is Miss Archery.
Yes, my stance is all wrong but I don’t care :D
But you know me, I always believe people to be good! Might be my downfall someday :D
Oh well, I’ll race him back! Although I think he’s a natural talent aswell :D
Haha. Cales ble omtrent bestekompis med treneren. Fnis.
